Coconut oil can be taken as a dietary supplement, used for cooking or used for skin & hair care.DosageAs a dietary supplement, take 1 to 4 tablespoons daily. May be used as a spread or added to salad dressings & smoothies. The item is a semi-solid product. If the product has been kept/stored in an area or facility that would put the product in higher than “typical room temperatures”, the product will start to transform into a liquid form. This is a typical trait of all semi-solid products, not just inclusive of this particular product. As the product would come to room temperature, it will again become solidified. This process, in becoming solidified may take a few hours, dependent upon the environment the product has been exposed to. The “solids” at the bottom of the jar when stirred the product, would be particles that had not turned to liquid form. Again, the “watery” state indicates was due to the temperature the product had been exposed to. The product has various uses – many in which the product can be utilized in liquid form and semi-solid. Thus depending upon what the consumer desires of the product, having the product in semi-solid form, creates this ability to transform to the needed use for the consumer.

REViEW: Tips and tricks for hair and skin
April 3, 2015
Being a southeast asain girl, i’ve grown up using coconut oil (CO) in almost everything in my daily life (cooking, hair spa, skincare, etc). For those who have never used the CO before, here are some tips and tricks:
HAIR:
I have straight black and thick asian hair. I put CO on my hair and leave it on for at least 30 min before washing it. This will makes my hair smooth and silky (see pics). If you have an oily scalp, avoid a direct contact with it yet focus on the hair instead. For the first time user, start off with a small amount first. Do not overuse it as it may reduce hair volume (especially if you already have oily hair).
If you dont have time for a hair spa, you can mix the CO with your shampoo and conditioner. I use about 5-10 drops of CO and mix it with my shampoo or cond in my hand. I always leave my mixed conditioner on my hair while brushing my teeth or shaving to allow the CO to penetrate my hair. After rinsing and drying, my hair feels incredible good. No excess oil left on my hair as i would imagine. I have got so many compliments on my hair, too (see photos).
SKIN:
I apply CO on my skin right after shower (before drying your body). Droplets of water will help CO penetrate the skin without feeling greasy. Use can also use CO as a makeup remover, facial toner, and eye cream. It makes my skin feel soft and smooth.
CO is solid at temperatures under 76 F (or <24C). You can directly scoop it out and use it right away as it will easily melt in your hand. Try to use a clean spoon to get the solid CO out to avoid ant contamination. If you need to use the liquid version, simply place the container in a warm water bath. It melts fairly quick, and you can pour it out as needed. If you decide to do it this way, I highly recommend to aliquot the CO to another container (just enough for a single use) before melting as i believe that reheating and cooling many times may degrade the properties of the CO. NEVER microwave the CO as it will deteriorate the oil and cause the yellowing issue.
Note that this brand carries two versions of coconut oil: cold pressed and expeller pressed. Although i cant really differentiate one from the other, Cold pressed is what i prefer and is supposed to be better (according to research studies). When i ordered the cold pressed from amazon last time, i received the expeller pressed instead, so i just want u to be aware of this.
Good luck and hope you will enjoy CO as much as i do.

Healthy, delicious and has a million uses!
November 28, 2013
I use coconut oil everyday to sauteé foods and as a substitute for butter on brown rice, potatoes, etc. It’s not only healthier, it tastes delicious too. I have used this oil all my life, because I’m Dominican and this oil is a staple in my island. I used to help my mother make this oil from scratch in our kitchen since I was a little girl. It was a long, tedious process! But it smelled so good, and I got to eat lots of little pieces is yummy coconut pulp. We use this oil to cook delicious foods, as well as a natural medicine to prevent and treat constipation. My mother used to give me half a teaspoon of melted oil with a pinch of sea salt on an empty stomach everyday, first thing in the morning to keep me regular. But the most popular use would be as a hair growth stimulant and conditioner (mostly infused with rosemary leaves) which leaves the hair shiny, soft and silky. It also treats psoriasis, dandruff, chapped skin and lips, and weak brittle nails. It also does wonders for dry skin!
This oil is very good It is pure and has nothing else added. Trust me, I know what real coconut oil is supposed to look, smell, and taste, and this is the real deal. I use it on my hair and on my skin too and it works just like the one Mom used to make.

The Viva Naturals Difference
Viva Naturals doesn’t source its coconuts from large-scale farms where machines pop thousands of coconuts off the trees every day. Instead, Viva Naturals contracts with local farmers, who hand pick coconuts in idyllic, fertile mountain regions in the Philippines.
These succulent coconuts are then cold-pressed at low temperatures using our proprietary extraction method, preserving vitamins, minerals and MCTs.
What Makes Viva Naturals Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil So Superior?
The Best Taste: Viva Naturals traveled the world in order to find the best-tasting coconuts. After hundred of hours, we discovered that the most delicious coconuts are grown in the fertile soils of the Philippines. With each jar of oil, you’ll taste the rich, silky smooth texture that is derived from these “cream of the crop” coconuts.
Grown in a Pristine Natural Environment: Our farms are miles away from the nearest city and situated with among wide nature preserve. This means there’s virtually no pollution or pesticide runoff.
Specialized Extraction: Viva Naturals cold presses each coconut within a few hours of being harvested using our proprietary extraction method. Rather than storing the coconuts in a warehouse for weeks or even months, the quick turnover crystallizes nearly all of the MCTs and antioxidants in the oil.

Coconut Oil For Deep Conditioning

Since coconut oil is compromised mostly of medium-chain fatty acids, it penetrates hair deeper and faster than most other conditioners. If you would like to moisturize your scalp, repair split ends, or add a healthy natural glow to your hair just follow these steps below:

– First make sure you have at least an hour or two for this treatment.  (The longer you leave coconut oil on your hair, the more effective it will be!)

– Wash your hair and let it air dry while you prepare the next steps.

– Gather your materials: a comb or hair pick, shower cap or small towel to wrap your hair in, two small bowls of different sizes (one should fit inside the other), and of course your jar of organic virgin coconut oil.

– Scoop a small amount of coconut oil into the smaller of the two bowls.

– Set the smaller bowl in the bottom of the larger one.

– Fill the larger bowl with hot water so the smaller bowl is partially submerged, but not floating or taking on water.

– Once your coconut oil comes to temperature and is completely melted, use your fingers to gently massage the oil into your hair, then work through with a comb or hair pick.

– After you’ve finished applying the oil, wrap your hair up in a shower cap or small towel and allow it to soak in for thirty minutes or longer.

– Shampoo to remove oil.

– Optionally, you may reapply a small amount of coconut oil to the ends of your hair and / or work a small amount through all of your hair again – just enough to give it a healthy shine.

– Then style as usual.
